Who We Are
"ATP" stands for Anonymous Tennis Players.  We are a group of independent
players who have no "official" club affiliations, however we call
Whittier Narrows our home.  Several of our players belong to other clubs
but like to play with our group because the only thing we ask of our
players is to be nice, considerate and have a winning attitude.  It's not
always possible but we have tried to provide a nonpolitical environment.

We're simply a group of players who like league play but don't
necessarily want to deal with club or team politics.

Everyone is welcome to play with us at Cal. Tech on the weekends.

League Play
This was the first year that the men's 4.0 team won the Fall doubles.
Since 1995, we've been in the finals three times but never won.
The women's 4.0 team was in the finals last year but lost to
San Fernando after having won it for the first time in 1996.  The only
team to have success in the Spring was our 1997 team which got killed
at Nationals, but it was fun.  Our mixed team has gone to the sectionals
three out of the last four years but has never won it, however Vern Pang's
IH team won it in 1997 from the San Gabriel Valley.

Our 4.0 Penn League team won this year against the team from Los Cabs.
Hank Lloyd ran the league out of Costa Mesa because there is no Penn league
in the San Gabriel Valley.  This was the first year he had it and required
USTA ratings. It was a tough final match and we were lucky to win it.
The other teams in the league were the Irvine Tennis Center, Chino Valley,
and Costa Mesa. It ran from May to October..ouch! and it was hot.

We played in the 9.5 league last year and got killed when the league was a
K-Swiss league. We had the same results when it was the Pro Kennex
